Mykonos forms a cluster of islands along with Delos, Rinia and some rocky islets. It is one of the most popular Greek islands and this is due to its versatile character which pleases all tastes. It has particularly clean beaches with golden sand, a wonderful climate, a remarkable architectural harmony, small picturesque churches, archeological spaces and a cosmopolitan environment. This image is completed by the traditional pure white windmills which dominate the landscape and the pelicans, the permanent “fans” of the island.
What makes Mykonos special is that is an island full of contradictions, where opposing elements can coexist, like the traditional and the modern, the simple and the complex. It is ideal not only for calm but also for exciting vacations and this makes it one of the most ideal summer destinations.
One of the island’s prettiest spots and only 2km away from Chora, the town, is the picturesque area of Ornos, where the Ammos hotel is located. Its main characteristic is the small port where small fishing boats moor. Ornos has a small, beautiful beach and is close to Psarrou, where sea sports are available and at night there are plenty of opportunities to have fun.
